BACKGROUND You'll notice that Jay, in his resignation letter, signs as Jay "Jack Flanigan" Flannery. **Behind the Scenes** --- An elderly (close to 90) male listener named Floyd, who apparently had a hearing impairment, but, nonetheless, was still very much a big fan of 62 WHEN. "Floyd" used to often call night show host, Vic Johnson and sometimes during their brief conversations, Floyd would refer to that "Jack Flanigan fella" he listened to in the afternoon. Of course we often laughed about the fact that no matter what, he thought that Jay Flannery was really, "Jack Flanigan". Eventually the word...and the story got around the station...and from that time forward, almost everyone frequently greeted Jay with "Jack Flanigan!". To this day... the name still sticks.
